If you have been using your computer for a while and all of a sudden the keyboard has stopped working below is a few things to check.
firstly make sure it has not come lose. try unplugging it and then plug it back in. if you have a wireless keyboard try replacing the batteries and re-connecting with the receiver. once this is done check to see if it works out of windows. when you power on the PC try to get into the BIOS.
if you cant get into the BIOS it is more than likely down to hardware failure. do you have a spare keyboard or could you try the keyboard on another computer?
if you can get into the BIOS but the keyboard does not work in windows try reinstalling the keyboard drivers through device manager. if reinstalling the drivers dont help check for viruses and spyware. more on this can be found in the following post.

if you pc comes up virus and spyware free the only other thing to do would be to reinstall windows.
