Simply, will a widescreen distort my pictures/photos?

no, widescreen monitors will not distort your photos.

so long as you have up to date VGA drivers installed you should be given widescreen resolutions in the display properties. so long as you set it to use a widescreen resolution there should not be any distortion.

if you are using onboard VGA before trying a widescreen monitor i would recommend checking the card supports widescreen. if you are using an Nvidia or ATI card it should be fine.

Thanks Danno, that's just the assurance I was looking for. Now I'll buy that Hyundai 19" widescreen tft :D
