Well

what can i say. These guys started out strong, and didn't stop rocking till the end of the show.

Once the show started, it began with a 8 or 9 track set (wasn't counting) from Black Stone Cherry. Playing tracks from their new album Folklore and Superstition. These guys had energy, played loud and hard with plenty of swishing long blond hair, and for an up and coming group, are well recommended to see.

In the intermission, between BSC and Nickleback, played a few tracks by various groups to keep folks entertained.
Was sat there listening to Faith No More's Midlife Crisis, got about 3/4 through the song, when there's multiple exlosions from the stage, the lights go out, fireworks erupt, and from the pa system, comes the openingcords of Something In Your Mouth.

The audience erupted into cheers, and mobile phone screens could be seen everywhere as people started recording sections.

From there on out it was a rollercoaster ride , set list included Photograph and countless others, from the current and last 2 albums.

Loud? extremely, from the seats we had (section 112, row J seats 1 + 2) the sound was pounding us.

They even threw a couple of extras in, AC/DC's highway to ****. And Metallica (though for the life of me at this moment i can't remember the track. it was loud, it was fast, and it wasnt Enter Sandman :D )

Part of the act, included the spreading of tour shirts. Story goes they had an air cannon, which unfortunately didn't fire the shirts very far. The solution?
Air Sniper rifles!!!!
and to fire them, four stage crew. Including *shoe*, the guy who maintains the bass guitars and relevant gear, and, the guy responsible for all of pantera's pyrotechnics, now working on their tour. Who did a flipping fantastic job. From the explosions to the flames in time to the music.

Did they work? yup, did we get one, nope. they didnt fire em in our direction :(

So, from waiting to get in @ 6 till the show started @ 7:30, it was 80 notes well spent.

Did they play to the local crowd of sheffield people? Yes. Mid way through photograph, with the video playing in the background, interspersed in the images where local scenes, blades vs owls, steel smelting and the Tinsley Towers (now demolished).

overall, did they rock?

they rocked HARD!!!!!!!!!:rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rock er:

Now gotta get me a copy of BSC's album for the music collection.

Will try and upload some vids later (never bothered with vids on youtube before, so this will be a first for me)

I would use Vimeo tbh, fast to upload to plus you don't get all the record companies screwing you over.

Sounds like a fun time!

I like some of their music, but those sorts of concerts would send me into a migraine I'd never get over :P

If it was trance music (i.e. Tiesto, AVB, etc.), well, that's a different story :D

Hmm, trust me, if it gave you a headache, it woulda been from the pyrotechnics. the *noise* from the bands themselves, was more felt than heard most of the time :D
