I know intel burntest really stresses the system.
How many cycles should I run my corei7 on maximum with 16 threads to ensure total stability?

barso run prime95 overnight leave it running 12 hrs
we've been over this a good few times now and I've never seen your system but am pretty confident it's rock solid
As Cal said really, but if you're asking about Intel Burn Test, then I do 20 passes initially. Then about 100. Mind temps though, as Intel Burn Test can raise your temps a good few degrees higher than prime95 does.
However, a lot call 20 passes good enough. 100 is just a personal figure of mine.

CJE , he's under water ( his cooling not Braso per se ) so his temps on a 3.2ghz o/c should be uber noodles

My temps are around 65 c on burntest maximum with 16 threads.

I asked a similar question a few days ago. Now, I'm no expert, but my OC was passing ITBT fine, Prime95 was fine. But BSOD'ing with OCCT, and Orthos.
So i'd say, maybe do a mix of them all. And also try your day to day tasks, like gaming, encoding and the like.
Just my two farthings worth

then you have no more worries now go enjoy :)
I've failed on various "definate" stress tests over the years, rarely suffered from a BSOD in day to day use, I find I stress test less and less these days
I tend to use accrued knowledge, experience and a dash of "the force" I get by on that lol

To know your pc is stable on a i7 you only need to run 25 passes.
with 8 threads or 16 threads.
doesnt matter what you choose becuse there is only 2 cores 4 threads per core 2 threads per cycle.
8 in total includeing Hyper Threading enabled.
Remember to select maximum memory then if you pass 25 passes consider yourself stable.
If you run threads lower than 8 say 4 it will only use 50% cpu usage, keep it at 8, 16 if you want but there is no need.

For sure.
Most guides tell you to make changes to you FSB in small increments. I just slap it to 400 and work my way backwards, lol.

Cool. I always say that when I am not sure of the OP's cooling solution. Sort of as a disclaimer sort of thing you know. I wouldn't like somone to go off testing with IBT and slowly cooking his cpu. As it does raise temps quite high, quite quickly.
@Barso. Yeah, now enjoy that system. I am super jealous of you. ;)
