hmmm...
Well I Installed on Winows 7 RC1 x64, did a Deep Optimize
My PC Lives for a few hours, then randomly gets a load of BSODs...
My first instinct is to put my overclock to stock.
It BSOD at Windows startup
I couldnt find my Windows 7 RC1 x64 DVD i burnt... so i put my Windows XP Pro SP3 in, and that BSODs during installation...
I stick in a OpenSuSe 11 64-Bit Linux Install DVD, and run Memtest from that.
No errors
Then after all that, I decide to put my clock back up., Memtest again, no errors..
Then Windows 7 decides to give me an option to 'attempt to repair Startup(reccomended)' I'm just like, yay.. and then it does a System Restore, to before i Installed IObit Smart Defrag...
But Now, I'm just redownloading the Windows 7 Installation. Gunna wipe my drive, put Norton IS 2009 instead of AVG... (just incase it was a virus i got from my friend)...
Do a full scan disk. Oh and please don't install Norton! Awful products. Try Antivir or Avast if you want something free, or NOD32 for paid AV.

hmm... doesn't seem to be HDD, Motherboard (Brand New), RAM, Graphics...
looks like the CPU to me. I reckon the boards giving it too much voltage >.<
gone from 1.52v, to 1.3375v

erm 1.52v is higher than 1.3 cpuz/bios read it as 1.5200 probably if i was you i would load Bios defaults save exit then check the volts the e8200 is 45nm and should be running a vid of 1.2250 on avg
EDIT: dont use 3rd party defrag solutions there not needed the built in windows defrag does the same job you can even set it to run weekly it wouldnt surprise me if its the defrag exe whats corrupted or containing a virus! ive never heard of the software tbh...

aye, but 1.225 is for at stock... which is 2.66Ghz...
Also, temperatures are defo not a problem

And heres my CPU-Z
haven't crashed with this config. I'm pretty sure now, CPU was being overvolted..

from your screenie thats a **** good clock and yeah if it was at 1.52v then yeah it was being overvolted lol run prime 95 for at least 15 minutes on a blend test check for temps and stability if it passes without bsod then i would say your stable but do get rid of that defrag program :D

although in general I would agree Norton IS 2009 is the first good one, it doesn't slow yor computer to bits anymore

I agree, its actually lighter than AVG. and installing it takes like 5 seconds..

Its safe to say its my Overclock..
though, My overclock to 4.05Ghz was fine before. then it randomly stopped working..
I guess i'll be finding a stable Overclock tomoro...
Any guidelines anyone want to suggest?

i would go to 3.4ghz even though 3.2 seems to be the sweet spot for most games as for Page fault in non paged area thats a genaric ram error normally caused by overclock Also can be caused BY GPU ram sharing the same irq.
you will notice this via my computer ,properties, device manager little yellow ? over ram and gpu.
i cant remember the exact way to pull up irq's ill have to look it up personally im **** with software im only a techie lol.
sometimes can actually be the display driver catching to memory whats reserved for the os it causes it to throw a hissy fit and on linux its called a kernal panic on windows just bsod lmao!
but thats worse case scenario and normally bios update fixs this if the os cant.
bios will rearrange the irq's so none are shared if you switch off Plug"n"play os windows is normally very good from xp up with irq assignments and its reccommended to have that option on :D

hmmm... at 3.8Ghz, I've already noticed a difference compared to 4.05Ghz...
Its slower >.<
ah well.
I wont embed them, might get a few complaints about image sizes :( (1280x1024)

I guess i'll lower the CPU vCore voltage?, or raise it?

A stable overclock, and not setting the voltages to Auto.. :)
although, i won't use IObit Smart Defrag on Windows 7, as the defrag on Windows 7 is decent
