Do OEM SATA HDDs come with power cables? I ask because the one included with my Asus motherboard is about 10cm long and I don't think it will reach.

I've purchased a few OEM S-ATA HDD's, and its basically JUST the harddrive you will get.

Should my cable have been that short. There is one on the Novatech shop - how long is that. Just doesn't seem worth paying £5 for if Asus should have already given me one!

hard drives dont come with S/ata connectors
How long do you need it, im sure that if you send the mobo maker a email then they might send you a longer one, its worth a try

I think I've worked it out. I think it is actually a converter. You connect it to the end of a "molex" power cable, and it converts it to a SATA one. Does this make sense?

Also, what cables will my Hiper Type-M PSU include?

i've got a new type m in my computer and its got enough cables to power the space station lol no really its got about 7 sata connectors i think and if you bought a new mobo you could have got a normal hdd/cdd/fdd power supply converter with that
