Problem:
1) You purchase a Revo 420 pro without pre-loaded Operating System.
2) You install Win2000.
3) All of the drivers from the supplied CD install except the Video.
4) You try to manually install the driver but the install process asserts that the CD does not contain a valid driver. Specifying Windows Update as a location has the same result.
5) You go to http://www.ati.com and download the Win2000 VGA driver (ATI RAEDON XPRESS 200 series) 6-2xp_2k_dd_30152.exe.
6) You try a manual install again and point to location c:\ati\support\6-2xp_2k_dd_30152\2KXP_INF (where unzip put it)
7) The install process still asserts no suitable driver at that location.
8) Your display is left at 16 colours only.

Cause
1) CD does not contain Win2000 VGA driver or Win2000 install info.
2) The .INF file contained in the package downloaded from ATI contains a device id of 0x5a61 when PCI Explorer shows that the actual hardware device is exporting on the PCI bus a device id of 0x5a62.

Solution.
1)Back up files c:\ati\support\6-2xp_2k_dd_30152\2KXP_INF\CX_30152.INF and C2_20152.INF
2)Search the files for 5a61 (one occurance in each)
3) Edit to 5a62
4)Re-run install process specifying a location of c:\ati\support\6-2xp_2k_dd_30152\2KXP_INF.

This should work.
