Why is the external less than the internal?? makes no sense lol
Its a 24/7 raid drive with imporved filters and bearings for increased reliability. These drives have a 5 year warranty and would be what you would find in any decent SATA based server.

Wondering if anyone can give me a bit of insight on this ... I currently got a WD Raptor 74Gb, is it worth buying another one and RAID0 them?

so i could buy the external one and take the drive out of it? or is it sealed
Well no, because
1. They are now all sold
2. it would be a bit pointless as you could buy a 500GB internal drive cheaper,
please see Here (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/products/a517x1y0z1p0s0n0m0)

Any tasty offers on skt775 mobos, DDR2 ram, cpu coolers and 3.5" caddies? ;)
Probly an unfair question but would a Raptor or SSD drive be a better gaming bet ? Arma2 is about to hit and the devs say small SSDs are best, but the raptor prices are so tempting . . .

Got the 36gb one as a boot drive, and it isnt any noisier than the drive i had previously. But it will all depend on what case you are using i think, as my P182 has silicone damper things for the hard drives, which takes away a lot of the resonance which is passed through the case

Yep, applications in windows definately load much quicker, and windows itself loads faster than when it was on my 80gb boot drive which was only 7200 :)

Another question Vigoro - is there still a Western Digital utility which allows you to transfer a boot disk direct from an older target (ie a 7200rpm SATA disk) to a new drive, such as a ratpor ? Or did you install from scratch.
Thanks.

I don't know about a WD Utilty, but there are loads of thing which will mirror the drive...
whether they are then bootable or not I do not know. I ended up just reinstalling :S

Is it worth paying an extra £20 and getting the 74GB raptor?. Is there any performance differences etc?. Really would be nice to get a better boot drive :).
