Would 6GB be better to run?

I am currently running 12GB on my OC's i7920.
But would it be better to just run 6GB at 1600MHz at RAM's 8-8-8-21?
I have read that there is no point to using the 12 GB on vista64.
Would 6GB give me better stability?

6gb might give you better overclocking due to the fact you will only be running 3 sticks not 6

less physical ram sticks is better when it comes to overclocking
