I've had my mobo for a couple of weeks now and have just decided to put some speakers in they didnt work so i tryed another pair they also didnt worka nd then i tried another pair which i had stolen off my sisters pc where they had been working. So im confused i dont particularly want to send my mobo back to Novatech mostly because it would leave me without a computer for several days. Could it be just a driver problem or sumthing or could it be the actual motherboard i'm wondering whether it could just be easier to go for a separate sound card thanks

Try updating the Sound Drivers and see if it works then.
If not, then yes, buy a seperate sound card, instead of having to take all the hardware out just for a fault on the sound.
Thats what I would do

See if you can on the manufactures website (of the mobo) and look for your model. Have a look to see if there's any driver downloads available; sound drivers.
