Bad colours on L55110 screen?

A quick question. I have this laptop which I bought last Janurary. Now on the right hand side of the screen, there is a series of lines and odd colours where the side bar is normally on vista. Its about 1 inch wide.

it moves and changes colours depending on the colours on screen.

Any ideas?
I'm thinking it might be the cable that attaches the screen to the laptop?

Hi, you wann take the cover f your laptop, and plug the lead in if it isnt, but if its jsut o one side i doubt its the lead :S, trya new lead, last january :S jan 2008? 2009?

It would be Jan 2008 so its about 18 months old now.
It looks like a desktop screen would look like if the cable wasn't in properly.
Should I pop in to the store and have someone have a look?

Oh and it seems to go away when you pinch the screen just to the right of the right hand screen lock at the top.
seems like it might be something other than the cable.

It won't be a lose cable. A lose cable will cause the screen to get a very light blue tinge to it. Just to be sure, check the cabling anyway.

Pop it into a store somewhere and get them to check it out for you.

sounds like it's the lcd panel itself and as these laptop chassis are hideously flimsy it is not surprising, your looking at around £70 on ebay for a new panel if you can fit it yourself

if you can take a picture of it that would be good though at confirming it
