Can anyone recommend me a software firewall, that runs on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit SP2 ?
I did have Comodo, but it slowed my browsing, email and maybe download speed and was also giving odd ping results on speedtest.net so for now till I find a new firewall I am using the Windows Firewall

I use bitdefender internet security, it's very good, but it includes anti virus and other stuff as well as a firewall and its not free. Are you planning on paying?

I have already got Eset NOD32 Anti Virus killer, and have email Eset about trying to upgrading to there smart secuirty, however I am looking for a free one, till I can afforded to upgrade my license or if I have to buy another license.
So I am really looking for a free firewall for now.

used to be kiero, but advanced features are disabled after 30 days if you don't buy it, still free though.

Try Kasperskey, i'm using the free windows 7 one, but i'm sure the vista/xp etc one is epic too. It's really strict, takes a while to setup but does its job.

believe it or not you dont need a software firewall the built in windows firewall on 64 bit is practicly untouchable if you have a router if your direct with modem then i would suggest maybe getting one but if you have a good anti vir with browser & email protection ala Eset nod 32 then you really dont need a 3rd party software firewall :D

Been using vista firewall control! not let me down yet and it couldn't be easier to use :D
Lets me see what programs are connecting in and out, free too :agree:. Also works on win 7. It shows 2 processes in task manager, 1 under user name and 1 under system.
Its currently using approx 7.5mb

Another vote for Vista/W7 built-in firewall...
Everyone ought to be behind a hardware firewall already, so if you practice something approaching 'safe hex', these built-in firewalls will be fine.
