i ahve to disagree..

if you buy from the right person.. you get between 30-90days warrenty with most products. I know this isnt the same amount as novatech, but in some instances you can save a fortune from ebay, and get a warrenty with the product.

I bought a CPU for my girlfriends PC. Untested for 50quid. Has a 90warrenty.. CPU retailed for 150+ at the time. it worked and i got a nice CPU for cheap money, and could have got my moeny back.

Therefore ebay isnt a bad place to buy from, just looked for the right buyer. Consider adding a tenner onto the price if the more expensive person offers a warrenty.

Thats just my 2 cents..

i agree.. but to label ebay as a "dangerous place to buy Pc bits from" is a bit harsh imo. For instance. I have £150. i have to buy a 2.66 dual core pentium processor, and with the rest of the cash (+10/20) i want to buy a gfx card aswel. only to tide me over until i can get my 512mb bad boys.

Ebay is most likely my only hope of getting my graphics card. I dont mind the risk, as i have found several who over 90day warrentys. the sellers can be complete an utter Tw*ts, but if they supply me with the card for cheap, and have a warrenty displayed in auction, ebay obligates them to stick to the contract of selling :P

thats the legal side that i use against them :P
