EeeeeeeK :OMG:
That sounds like alot of fans :)
Am i right in thinking it's a single core CPU with the old DDR1 ram ?
Thanks

It used a Turion 64 2.2ghz CPU (Single-core) and 512mb of PC333 SDRAM (not DDR). The only other areas of note are the 120gb hard drive and the fact it had wireless.

Always a pleasure. The machine will still knock the socks off games around the "Oblivion" times but will likely struggle with new ones. It'd be recommended to look at our gaming systems that we sell now as these run a lot of new games with few compromises on the advanced features.
Anyway, bye for now and i hope you find something soon!

Not sure how much longer i can put up with my current 17" laptop that has a Geforce 7000m as anything more than Counterstrike Source or FEAR combat and the thing falls over :D
Would i be right in thinking that the laptops in Clearance are repaired customer returns ?

no not at all. it's a common misunderstanding to be honest. The clearance items are simply reduced units that we no longer have on mass. We've just reduced the price to ensure you get the best deal possible. The units are unused.

I dont get it, why put a dual 7900GTX in a laptop with old sdram and a crappy cpu? was this just one a customer upgraded and then returned or something?

it's not a repair or upgraded unit. our clearance units are unused. this was simply the spec of the unit and it can still play games VERY well that had no DUAL-CORE support so for a single core unit, the GFX cards made up for that fact. The RAM is upgradable so it sounds like it was originally built with the requirements for Windows XP in mind.
