SO i open remote desktop in XP, and type my Computers name, as it is on my Win7 PC

Both my PCs are in the workgroup 'WORKGROUP'

It it says it wont connect

Oh

are there any good Network monortoring systems aswell??

Use it's IP adress and connect with that. What is it you wish to monitor?

Not really, there are a few Vista gadgets out there for usage. I use Multimeter from The Hobby Lounge. Did connect via IP work?

Do you like DVD's?

And i just set me other Pc's IP Permantly to 192.168.1.65

Check the firewall options on windows 7 and check that it has remote desktop enabled.

alternativly you can use a programme called teamviewer 4, works just like remote desktop, but a bit simpler and more adapatble.
