I have a Dell Optiplex PC and an Apple Mac G4. As my space in my office is limited, I considered buying a KVM Switchbox so i can use both computer towers with one TFT monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Now I know the Apple works okay with the TFT monitor standalone as I've used it (the orig Apple monitor was too big), and I know the Dell will work with it as well.

However my dilemna is.... Apple Mac use their own particular Mice/Keyboards which I don't really want to use with the PC (no right click button function).

Q1 / Would I be able to use a standard USB keyboard and mouse with the G4 Mac or would I have to use the Mac supplied ones. If this is the case then its pointless me buying a switchbox...

but if I CAN use a standard USB mouse/keyboard >

... Would I be able to use the KVM Switchbox to toggle between the Mac and PC? Are they compatible?

Would appreciate any advice on what products to consider. Have mainly been looking at these which are a bit pricey for me but is what I was told might work:

many thanks in advance

bit late in response, and not 100% what you're after, but my wife uses a logitech usb wireless keyboard on her mac, which she used to use on her pc. Literally just plugged it in and it worked.

We don't have a kvm though, she just switches keyboards now.

I'm looking to do the same setup flora1972. Did you ever get it to work? I'm thinking about doing the same setup with 2 Dells, an iMac and one Windows PC. I was going to get an AMCONN KVM614UP (http://www.amconnstore.com/products/usbkvm/KVM614UP/). I just want to make sure it will work before I buy.

Please let me know if it worked for you.

Thank you so much!
