Oh dear! Although there is a silver lining for AMD fans. If you get your neighbour to buy a 4x4 too, you get a free nuclear power plant to power them...just.

AMD really need to think more and stop trying to do things which wont work.
4x4 will only see an improvement over a c2d if it is doing about 5 or more processes at a time.
i hate intel right now, but atleast all this competition is bringing us some better and cheaper cpu's :P

Bare in mind too, this is enthusiast hardware. It isnt average joe with no idea how to overclock. The idea is to overclock. Kentsfield is running at 2.67ghz. You can tune that up to 3.3ghz quite easily. People have hit over 5ghz with Kentsfield! Thats just how much power it has in its pocket. Albeit with liquid nitrogen, AMD's can't get near that with the same cooling

I think AMD are fools. They have ripped off their customers. AM2 anyone? What was the point of that? They have brought nothing new with AM2 that they couldn't have done with 939.
I didn't like the idea of AM2, i have no idea why anyone would have bought it anyway. Now another socket 6 months later?
You can't even pickup one of these new procs for your AM2 board which you were told was the future, and they are a lot cheaper than other FX's

I appreciate AM2 will be needed in the future, but what is the point of designing the future in the past. As time goes on technology gets better...
