Ok. Ill give you the low down 1st.

I will be having four SATA hard disks. The two Raptors will be as RAID-0 and the two WD350's will be as RAID-1. The RAID-0 will have the O/S and the RIAD-1 will have all my data and images of apps and hopfully the OS from off the RIAD-0 which we will be discusing about.

Now, the RIAD-1 will have a partision for my music, data, docs, images of CD's, Backups and so on. Hence why this is a RAID-1. For thouse who do not know what RIAD-0 and 1 are I will explain. A RIAD-0 is striping. Basicly your disks that are in this raid are striped with the data which you put on them. So if you put a music fire on them, this file will be spread out over the contect of these disks in the RAID. Though if one of these disks goes baing, you have lost the lot.

RAID-1 is mirroring. You should get the gist of this from just the name. Basicly both disks are identical to eachother. If one goes bang then you put a new one in and instulize the new disk and wala. You have your data on it again and safe.

Now what I want to do is the following and which I need help with.

I want to have a process were as when the Pc boots up, i can press a key, eg= Ctrl+C, or something, and then I get given an option. Press B for back up and or Press R for recovery. When I press B, this will back up the entire content of the RAID-0 disks and create a back up on a partision on the RAID-1 Disks. I can use ghost or what ever to do this.

If I press R, then the partition on the RAID-1 copys across the content onto the RAID-0 Disk's.

Or

In windows I make back ups to the back up partision of c:\ etc.... and also have a hidden o/s in this as well. So if the RAID-0 Goes bang, i can install a new disk, then boot to the o/s in the hidden partition and restore the content back to the RAID-0.

I think you get the point. I just need help with making this sucsessfull thats all. I can test this before i ever instalate it on my personal pc when its made. I have an entire test lab to myself which i can test this process on. I already have a machine that has 2 sata HD as RAID-0 and 2 sata HD as RAID-1. (also with an E6300).

Please Advise me.
