I like him in Guy Ritchie movies...perhaps purely because I like His movies rather than Brad Pitt in them!

But in his role as Mickey his accent is a blur between irish or Oirish, romany gypsie and mockney cockney so he couldn't really get it wrong.

Don't get me wrong I'm not slating him, **** he's slept with Angelina / Jennifer! hats off to the man, even if that's all he'd done in life.

The curiou case of benjamin button - dire
Mr & Mrs Smith - top notch
Troy - pants
Snatch - genius
Fight Club - oustanding
Se7en - smashing
True Romance - not seen
Ocean's Films are meant to be good - they are indeed

Enough said =P

Fixed, quite why anyone rates Button as a film is beyond me, I had great hopes for it, possibly the second biggest let down after HBP

I thought the film was ok - I wont ever watch it again, it dragged on and on but it was a weird story to grasp but otherwise not that bad :/

It was dire and Mr and Mrs Smith was top notch? You're right it probably is beyond you.

Mr and Mrs Smith had no pretensions, it was an action / comedy movie in the same vein as True Lies, within it's genre it is top notch. would I compare it to any modern day classic nope not at all.

Button on the other hand failed to stimulate, excite, intrigue or engage, an interesting premise but poorly directed and acted.

it's an opinion, it's not your opinion but it's no less worthy due to the fact that it differs from your own

We perhaps have differing opinions of "top notch". And "dire" for that matter.

Watch it again fella. A very interesting concept underlies the whole story. A good score was alongside it too.

Poorly directed? Have you read the book?

Don't be a girl; I said it was beyond you and not that my opinion is superior to yours because it differs.

It was a brilliant film and the Jew Hunter was a brilliant actor. Brad Pitt's accent was perfect. Sure it was over the top but this is Tarantino we're talking about and from what I can see, he was trying to exaggerate some of the stereotypes found in the different people/countries. Excellent cast and awesome film!

I may nip along and see this film, Helios.

But let's be frank, it don't look a classic in the way Sam Shephard, Wim Wender's and Harry Dean Stanton films are.

Brad Pitt's best film was " A River Runs Through It."

EDIT: And I have to add that Clint Eastwood is still "The Man".
Gran Torino was breathtaking.

I heard this is a little bit over the top on the blood spatter side *looks at the direct's name* Ok it's probably going to be very much over the top in that respect. Anyhoo, had some of this film described to me and it sounds a bit too unpleasant. I get nothing out of gory films these days. Much prefer decent back story, plot etc (which this may well have).

I only say this because you are a man I respect, Mike, but 90% of films are dreck. Despite huge budgets...

"Paris Texas" was a goodie. So was "The Fabulous Baker Boys".

Touched me.
