hiya guys,

I have a problem with my pc :(

When i turn it on, the cpu, case fans and hdd come alive.... but the screen does F*** all.

If i shut the pc down, remove CMOS battery, then reseat it, it will then boot to window ish (another problem atm)

My question is, why does my epox board force me to do this everytime?

haha...

thanks for the helpful reply

yeah i have resigned myself to the fact that the mobo is F.U.B.A.R.

I think...(cant confirm as im at work) that when the mobo is set to HDD as primary... the cmos doesnt always need resetting

lol

stupid epox

you could try replacing the cmos battery, but I don't think it will help a lot with the probelm you are describing - they normally just stop retaining settings but let the PC boot up.

Tried it without the battery in?

dont you need the cmos battery in so the bios can boot properly which then loads the kernel on the hard drive for windows to boot.

but surely if the mains is still connected to the psu and the back of the psu is still on then it should be fine
