Yes, that is true. You could even install XP pro on to it if you wish. Its only a PC at the end of the day.

could you use the 360 as a computer? just by installing xp pro and of course a bigger hdd and still play on the 360 and xbox live and use it as a laptop?

might be possible, but isnt linux more flexable in that dept.

i was thinking of possibly doing something like this but i would want it to be a normal laptop as well as it would make much more sense

Well if you used nortan ghost to ghost the drive, then install an 160GB disk. make 2 partitions, then install XP pro on one half, and then re ghost the image back to the other partition. Then (cant remember this part that well) you crate a file which gives you a partition boot order option, and add both o/s to the process. Then when you start up you have 2 options. The XP o/s or the microsoft 360 o/s.

It wouldn't work, the 360's CPU is a PowerPC, not an x86. Meaning it has an entirely different architecture than a desktop PC's processor.

Most flavours of linux support the PowerPC architecture, as does Mac OS/OSX

But even if you were to figure out a way of doing that, you'd likely never be able to play games on it again.

Myxbox has linux on it and it runs games and just about everything else on it including copied games, there is a certain point in the game splintercell which enables you to completely upload linux up on the xbox and hack it to death basically!!

Consoles always seem slow at running OSes to me. The original Xbox could run 95, but it took 5 minutes to boot. Not that that's a generalised case.
