I have just ordered this MP3 player for my daughter. No instructions came with it. The software CD does not install any software or contain any instruction manual or any files such as 'setup.exe'.
This is my first mp3 player and I am a bit lost what to do. Does anyone know how to get my hands on a manual.

Should be plug and play with any Windows Operating system higher then Windows 98. Plug it into the USB slot and wait for windows to recognise it as a portable device. Should work
Then can drag the files into where ever they go to on the device

Thanks for the reply. The plug and play on the PC is not a problem. I need an instruction manual for the functions on the player that are not intuitive to the novice user.
E.g. It took me a while to figure out how to auto store the digital radio channels. It is not obvious that if you hold the play button down it will auto seek and store all channels.
I have still not figured out how to adjust he volume.

Whats the exact model? Is it a one of the colour 1/2 gb ones? Ill try and find out for you. Most of the time mp3 players dont, or the manual is in a digital format.

Had a look at the boxes, none of the others seem to have any manual and the cd will just have windows 98 usb drivers. Might have a pdf file on the disk, just have a look again. If not then just have to play around with it more, sorry not anymore help. I have no personal experience with those mp3 players.

Thanks for your help. I would appreciate it if anyone else has any tips. I am usually quite good at figuring these things out over time but I have to do it in secret so my daughter does not see it before Christmas.

 i have just purchased NOV-MP3M2G mp3/4 player, great little player, but dissapointed with the lack of instructions, i found operating and putting music files on there ok, but having trouble with the video side of things, have tried the converter that was on the disk that came with it, no instructions how to use though!!!!!,,, spent the last 4 hours trying to convert video files to play on it but can't seem to get any of them to be in a central position on the screen, lack of technical information or instructions doesn't help!!!!, tried looking on the net but it doesn't help when you do not know who manufactures the thing in the first place,,, i know you brand them as Novatech items but it would be nice if you could go to the manufactures website to get more information.
So please try and find some instructions or more detailed specs,, i.e pixel height, width bitrates etc etc..
gonna carry on playing and try and sort it out, but any help would be grateful...
like the support forum as well good idea..

 eventually managed to encode video ok (about 2.30am)......
hopefully over the weekend or boxing day i will try and write up some instructions on how to use the mp3 player and how to encode video and audio files for this, in the meantime if anyone gets stuck, and is not sure how to use the player or how to transfer files, just PM me and i will try and help, about the headphone issue a lot of people seem to be having, i have just made a lead up that converts from 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack, i hate those in ear headsets as well, just bought a nice pair of sony dj headphones from Novatech and made a lead up, works great and the sound quality is excellent, at least that way you can use normal headphones and because its a lead with a plug and socket on, it doesnt stick right out from the side of the player like the 3.5mm to 2.5mm jacks do, also using a phone case from a motorola v3 razor works great as a holder for the player and the lead fit in nice as well, also protects the player from scratching, and you can clip it on your belt or jeans etc, etc. i'm gonna pop down Maplins when i get a chance to find out how much the plug and socket is to make the conversion lead, so if anyone gets stuck they can either get the bits themselves, or i could make you a lead up.

:D Thanks for that mp3customer, that saves me trying to work out a manual, to help people out, i'll have a look at both links myself might save me a bit of trouble in the future..lol
just a quick look at the manual pretty straight forward by the look of it, didn't have any trouble using it or transferring files, just the video encoding side of things, downloading new program from the above link, and going to give it a try now...
Thanks again for posting the links, hopefully will help people out who are stuck..
