hi guys
i have finally fitted my artic cooling twin turbo accelero on my 4890 and its unbelieveably quiet!! even at 100% not as good as vapourx cooling mind but the 4890 is running cooler and quieter and i can now easily run it at 1000 core without a hitch and not seen a single crash!! was a little difficult fitting the cooler on as i had to remove one of the vram heatsinks to make way for the copper piping on the HSF also i woulnt fit the heatsinks on the voltage regulators as there wasnt enough headroom.. but considering they are bare at stock and they now actually have air flowing overthem regardless of heatsink or not im sure this is an improvement.
on top of that ive finally got my p2 955 working and ready to be played with.. im gonna post some new benches and my oc results asap xD
ie also repositioned my silenx fan nearer to my HSF thus colling my cpu more though unfortunately its increased in noise a, little as i think thats the consequense of having a 72cfm fan blowing through a honey comb..... ive removed the UV cold cathodes and the led lights as the colours were if anything.. annoying and attracted moths at night.. (when the silenx fan was on the front it shredded many moths and sucking them into my case xD.. the other reason for this was so i can pull out the **** modular molex cable which was like 1.5m of cable wrapped up inside my case purely to power those silly lights.. so better airflow, running a little cooler overall and faster too!! and the cool blue hiper led fan on the front again and the red at the back with the red ballistix its a much darker and more prettier than what it did with its xmas tree setup xD.. there is really some nice air movement.. in regards to sound.. now the clicky stock 4890 fan has gone im back to the low roar of a lot of air moving.. its not loud.. well in my book.. but its not annoying.. there is not clicking noises.. no high pitched screaming fans, just the reminder that my rig is moving a lot of air.. and im cool with that.. my room is very hot so to have a lot of air moved is important.. mu 955 is idling at 42degrees and @ load at about 51 degrees.. thats checking it now though!! my room is boiling atm.. but thats a little warmer than my 940.. i think i may invest in getting a true and adding a silenx fan onto it.. anyway ill run some new benches and yeh just thought i should tell the worldd.. xD
this might be the wrong place to post this thread but i placed it here on the basis of a heads up on some coming new benches :)
ps.. forgive my rambling long winded nature when i start blowing out hot air i rarely can be arsed to check my grammer and spelling xD
