Changing Motherboard.

Hi, can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the whole motherboard on my PC. I have a K8S-LA (Salmon), AMD Athlon 64 processor with HyperTransport support which is Socket 754. This means the maximum upgrade on my current motherboard is AMD Athlon 64 3400+. This isn't much more than I have at the mo and I quite fancy a dual core with PCI-E graphics capablities. I am hoping that a motherboard change is possible rather than buying a whole new system.

what exactly are you asking??

you can take the motherboard out,yes
changing the processor socket??

tell us what you want to keep then we can sort something out.
RAM,cpu,gfx etc.

Basically, I want to upgrade my processor but the spesc for my motherboard according to the Compaq website say it can take a max of a 3400+. Which is about a 2.2 Ghz AMD. I currently have two sticks of 512 DDR and a 256 Radeon Saphhire AGP gx card. I don't know if this is any good but I only really play lower end games ie Starwars Empire and such.

cpu aswell to a 939skt, so you can keep the RAM
gfx card
more RAM
whats the price that you are setting out for this

The most I want to shell is £200. Otherwise I might as well get a barebones bundle. Any recommendations?

Naaa kill the ram altogether, get DDR2 ram, so get an AM2 socket mobo and put an AM2 sct AMD X2 cpu in it.
