I have a few questions and was wondering if some one could help me out..
Is Win7 an upgrade to Vista? Like Vista was to XP...
Is Win7 64 bit?
Will stuff run on Win7? I currently have XP and don't want compatibility problems everywhere..
I was reading on another thread in this forum that you can get Win7 for £38.. which seems like quite a deal - is there something I am missing?
Thanks, as you can tell I'm new and any help is appreciated!

In answer to your questions
Win7 is the next OS from Microsoft and is the successor to Vista just as Vista was to XP
Win 7 is available in both 64 and 32 bit flavours
Sorry can't comment on compatibility too many variables in the equation
Not sure where W7 is being sold for £38 but I'd be highly sceptical as the old adage goes if something is too good to be true, it's usually has a catch.

Ooh.. something else - if it comes in 32bit and 64 bit - what would be the advantage in running it in 32bit?
Isn't 64 bit better? Or isn't this the case?

There's this thing called "Google" which can help answer your questions. 64 bit *may* have some driver issues and compatibility but I have not encountered any so far. 64 bit is for machines with more than 3 gb of ram.

Hi there
As already mentioned, 64-bit O.S. can address memory beyond 3-4GB's, not sure on the exact figure, essentially if your PC as more than 4GB of RAM a 64-bit O.S. is a must.
You may also see some very slight performance improvements on a 64-bit O.S. with modern 64-bit processors.
A 32-bit O.S. is for better compatibility driver wise with older hardware.
