I recently bought a A8N32-SLI Deluxe board and it works great, however I am having trouble with the RAID controllers. I don't use the SATA yet as I have existing PATA drives. I installed a PCI RAID board - the Silicon Image 0680 Medley card, so I get more channels for CD drives etc.. this works fine - however, when I run the config manager in control panel for the onboard chipset, it bluescreens and quits.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you think the two RAID chips are incompatible?
Maybe it would be a good time to move to SATA RAID and ditch the old card?

edit - for clarification the onboard RAID chipset is also a silicon image but different type, 5xxx (can't remember the exact number)

hello, i have noticed another post where you say your system is blue screening when playing a dvd. perhaps the problem could be related to a faulty bit of hardware, at a guess i would say the memory. the first thing that i would try is running a few checks on the memory. a free diagnostics tool can be downloaded from http://www.memtest86.com. if you run this for a few hours it will detect the slighest of faults on the memory.

Yeh good idea. I'll run the tests and see if it turns out to be faulty

Probably bad/conflicting drivers, since blue screens from kernel mode.

have you tried running in "safe mode"
