Hey all,

Hope everyone had a good xmas :) I found you guys while searching for some info on Novatech laptop batteries.

I bought my Gran her Novatech a year or so ago (poss longer) and she is about 83 years old now (so doesnt use it as much as your average laptop user ;) ) but she usually keeps it plugged in when she uses it.. and when finished turns it off at the mains (and turns the lappy off too)..

The battery seems now completely dead, the laptop will work when plugged into the mains, and says its charging the battery, but it never goes above 0% on the meter.

I guess its had a good innings for a battery (and probably wasnt looked after the best ;) but where might I be able to get a replacement from?

Im not sure what model the lappy is.. I just have a product code: NNB-169
and a serial number.

Can anyone help? I am trying to sort this while I am at home over xmas, so any help would be really really appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)

JJ

Yea batteries gone, need a new one but I was looking around and seems like we currently don't have any for Matrix Pro in stock (that I know off) Might be best to come in with the laptop. I cant say for certain if we do or will get any in

You could try a recondition. give it a days charge (without using it), fire it up and leave it til it dies (even if its a few minutes). Repeat the process 2 or 3 more times.

I've managed to eke some life out of my old Novatech laptop battery (must be about 5 years old now). only about 20 minutes, but its better than a kick in the knackers.

Rekindling an old thread as it may be useful for others, I have an Orion Core2Duo and only ever got about 1.5hrs from my laptop on battery running WinXP. Now though, say 2 years on, I'm only getting 10mins usage. Will give your suggestion a try.

Would it be suggested to boot it up into the BIOS so the battery would be draining at a minimal rate?

Thanks,
