View Full Version : OCZ PSU's
Are you getting the 850W GameXStream in any time soon?
Nox
hi Nox
we should be getting these into stock at the end of the month
cheers :P
Cheers, will probably be getting one as long as the whining is not a common fault... depends a bit on sli certification too though.

it will handle sli anyway!
er... doesn't mean it will be certified...

why do you need a certified psu?
I don't *need* a certified PSU, heck, I don't even *need* a PSU at the moment, but certification is not just about the power they produce, but extra things like 4 pcie connecters etc, and if i'm buying one it will save me digging out every spec and potentially missing something then kicking myself.

there's a hiper 730w psu for £80 that has 4 pci-e connectors, but isnt sli certified.

Thats kinda cheap for a PSU with 730W hehe

sorry its £90 and has quite a few connectors!##ps did u get ya striker ?
power on rails? and at what temp is that 730W taken? whats the ripple on it?
need more etc's?
Nox
there's a hiper 730w psu for £80
and why would I want to buy a PSU with +/- 5% ripple when the one I have is +/- 1% ? :D
i'm looking at the psu because its the only 1 that *may* be beefy enough to run a couple of R600's and be 14cm in length, silentish, non-modular and have the cables coming out of the edge rather than middle.
All those items are vital or I would of bought the coolermaster one by now :p

Enermax Liberty 620 Watt is good :)
I would think 5 HD's and two R600's will probably be pushing a 620W psu... :/ If it wasn't i'd stick with my PCP&C 510SLI
tho i will be first to admit i won't be slappy two in right away ;)

ya ill be using 2HDD and just 1 card for the moment :P
From the benchies that i have seen , it looks like it will beat a 8800GTX between 5% to 30% ;)
Yummy
Probably seen the same website then :)
i'm impressed by it but something is hmmm, its a website thats been hosted for this and this alone (505 one right?) so I can understand the need for anonimity, but even still, there haven't been any chinese website that needed translating first - odd - its always that way first...
Fingers crossed its pretty accurate anyway.
Got 3 raptors in mine at the moment, keep staring at a couple of WD RE 500GB drives though for backups etc.

stop moaning bout your motherboard
ring novatech and ask about it!!
R600 will beat the 8800gtx, but when the R600 comes out ,nvidia will try and bring in another version of the 8800gtx with GDDR4 RAM instead of GDDR3, which will speed it up even more
teknokid
03-01-2007, 10:14 PM
yh but r600 has had more time to develop!
and very importantly, or stupidly for nvidia, they will not allow SLI on non-nvidia chipsets...

keep your old psu and get the Tt gfx booster. avaliable from novatech i think.
don't have space for that in my PC - every 5.25 bay is accounted for.
But...
i'm now thinking of a new case instead, a TJ07, as I have 2 450W OCZ psu's sat here, new... would cost roughly the same as a new psu, well, bar a few $$ :D
Nox
or a killernic /sigh
or r600 /double sigh

or get a cm stacker stct01, alot cheaper and can also fit 2 power supplies
yeah, Its a well featured case - find the front a little bland though, but I guess once you have your bits and pieces installed it will look better. I like coolermaster, is it full aluminium or steel chassis?

Got Purchasing to finally order me one in.

its steel i believe. go for the stacker 830 its a very very nice chassis.

it is a pure steel chassis
allu side panels
stacker 830 cant have 2 psu's
can it??
ah now, I do like that nvidia evolution stacker, think the front grill is fab - just a shame they don't do a regular one like that. Yep, single PSU - not a problem if you're putting in OCZ's new 2k PSU though, half of it sits on the floor lol

No, you have to 'knit' it into something resembling a jumper without arms

12-01-2007, 06:06 PM
WHAT? Dont you mean freezer!
Taxation
12-01-2007, 07:47 PM
if i put it into a freezer then the water in the pipes would freeze
unless i add some salt to it aswell, bu then that would ruin the waterblocks
or build a swimming pool, and use that.
Nox
teknokid
13-01-2007, 08:39 PM
or OC ure cpu loads so the water never gets cold enough to freeze!
Taxation
14-01-2007, 11:56 AM
but then your watercooling would need to be on constantly and also your computer
which will wear out the bearings in the pump , so you need to replace it more often
teknokid
14-01-2007, 04:54 PM
k well just turn off the freezer when u turn off the pc!
Taxation
14-01-2007, 06:48 PM

There is nothing stopping you from throwing an OCZ PSU into a swimming pool, should you desire. What a silly question.

teknokid
15-01-2007, 09:42 PM
well then its clearly you with a problem!
r u ok mate?
Me i'm fine, its you i'm worrying about, changing subject like that, one minute asking me to tell you how a OCZ PSU and a swimming pool can have a relationship, then the next minute enquiring about my health. I wasn't the one who brought the whole relationship thing into the thread!!!!
You crazy man.
Why are you asking about my health??? I hope you're not planning on throwing an OCZ PSU into a swimming pool whilst i'm in it - you may hit me on the head.

How on earth will it electrocute me???? Oooooh, you think the pool is full of water??? You really are mad, what a waste of a decent PSU... And thinking i'd be doing some kind of exercise - not sure which is the crazier thought...
Anyway, I thought you promised not to utter another word until your computer arrived?

I did, and tried to put it on top of my land rover. failed and was off work for a week. Boat looked small (13ft) but must of been the size of the QE2 by the time i'd started to try and lift it.

id go for rad, res, psu?
allready got all three of those in my computer :D
second rad/loop could be an option, but I don't need it, or mounting my pump there, or a second fan controller, or a gap...
most likely thing will actually be to move the fan controller down, put a blanking plate above it, and slap in a second 360 rad - was what it was designed for originally :D
