I know that there are a lot of people here who have an interest in Linux and take the time to test compatibility of particular Novatech machines with different Linux distros. I think we all realise that with Novatech offering the option to get no OS installed, it's automatically the first choice for Linux users looking to buy new laptops in the UK.
However, I'm now looking to get a new laptop, and there's no easy way to find out which novatech products work with Linux and which ones don't, because the information is scattered all over these forums.
I discovered there's a neat site here: http://www.ubuntuhcl.org/ , put up by the Ubuntu people, with a Hardware Compatibility List that anyone can edit. Novatech is already listed, but has no products under its name, which is a shame.
As soon as I get my new laptop, I'll be adding a new entry, and I'll be really happy to see more people contribute. In fact, it'd be awesome if Novatech took the time to help out -- after all, this can only help the business out!
Cheers,
Cos
