I really enjoyed playing FarCry. Just picked up this Movie spin-off at Blockbuster for the Night:

Quite enjoyable with good action scenes. Til Schweiger is likeable enough as Jack Carver in the familiar Red Hawaiian shirt. Emmanuelle Vaugier is Valerie. Uwe Boll directs a somewhat modified quick adventure with a lot of the familiar atmosphere of boats, vehicles and weapons. Not bad at all...:thumbs:

Never played the game but the film looks cool. Gonna rent it myself, either today or tomorrow. cheers for the tip, system :-)

HeHe, it happens that BlockBuster have the FarCry game for about a fiver along with Tomb Raider Legend which I also enjoyed...two classics that age well.

FarCry doesn't need a lot of hardware. I ran it on an 8500GT and a single-core 430 Celeron. The trick is realising you can often skirt round trouble to get to an objective...lol

i thought this was one of the better Ull BOWl movies and followed the game quite well..

Yup, but my 19" monitor didn't need twin SLI 9600GT in practise. Way too much graphics power for any games I run. Cards were slightly mismatched on fan control, so were noisy too. Hence I dumped the SLI. lol

That is fair enough, System.

I still haven't got round to renting the film. Kept getting distracted over the weekend and was back to work today. Will save it for this weekend :-)

Going to Blockbuster reminds me of being a kid. Used to love going to the video shop.

Oh yeah! I forgot to say that I watched Far Cry a few weeks ago. It does make for a good action movie and will please audiences, whether they've played the game or not. Cheesy, funny, predictable, skids, explosions...all the usual stuff :-)

I thought Jack Carver came over as much more likeable in the movie. He seemed a bit dumb and sarcastic in the game. Probably the only thing I really disliked in the game.

Oh, and the conspicuous Red Hawaiian shirt. I mean how hard is it to get rid of a shirt given PriMark's knockdown prices...lol
