Hey all - I recently uninstalled Win7 RC 64bit due to too many compatiblity issue with certain games i was running etc - i have formatted my Hard drive and installed my old copy of Vista HP 32bit and have installed SP 1 and 2 however 80% to 90% of the time when i click on an icon on my desktop or on my start bar it comes up with the windows explorer has stopped and is restarting message and the program/game etc hasnt run - I tried uninstalling SP2 incase it was that but its still happening.....
Anyone know how to fix this rather annoying error?

Sounds like a dodgy install or dodgy ram. I would be tempted to reinstall tbh.

If you do reinstall Vista then try going up to SP1 and then play around with it. If it remains stable then try SP2. I have (very occasionally) seen SP2 cause this kind of thing.

I can't tell you what it is exactly, but I believe it's caused by TSR conflicts, i.e you're doing one thing and something else that's supposed to be in bed wants some of the action.

Only thing I can tell you is when it does it it normally boots off the Vista look for a solution, you could see if it's sent you any suggestions yet.
