Hi all,

I'm new on these forums - I'm looking to buy a SLi ready motherboard that will allow me to run two GeForce 6800 512mb SLi cards at once. I currently only have the one card but am hoping to invest in another soon. I have seen several SLi ready boards using socket 939 (I am advised this is the best - I have NO idea what it means!) ranging from £75 all the way up to £130 or so - including boards by Foxconn, Asus, Abit (the AN8 fatal1ty and A8S deluxe spring to mind...) but am not sure which board would be best.

I don't want to go the route that assuming price = best item. The most expensive I'm sure isn't always the best when considering what other hardware will be running along with it.... I currently have an AMD 3200+ 64-bit processor running at 2.04ghz, 1.5gb of DDR RAM and am using an A-bit AV8 motherboard with the above GeForce 6800 graphics card i described...

Considering my current parts and my plans for another matching graphics card, what SLi ready motherboard does anyone think would optimise my performance?

Thanks everyone!

my answer would be to get aither the
asus a8n sli premium
or
asus a8n32 sli deluxe

the premium is probably one of the best ones out at the moment.cool and quiet may i add.
the a8n32 sli deluxe is one of the more puture proof boards, offering 32 lanes for sli instead of 16. And this board also runs quietly.due to its "snaking heatpipe"

the dfi boards are pretty good, really good performance, but the chipset cooler is a fan, noisy and if the fan breaks then the chipset will overheat and thats a good 100 quid down the drain.

im getting the a8n32 sli deluxe for my rig, i highly recommend it, or you could wait a few months until after Cebit (march) where they are bringing out a whole array of new items
