Hey, I was just wondering if my CPU will be a bottleneck in games? Its a AMD 3000+ 2.0GHz, I have 1.5Gig of RAM and a nVidia 5500 (128mb) It was bought from Novatech as a 'Matrix Pro' last year, all standard apart from more RAM added (1Gig added).
I was wondering if when I upgrade my card to a 7 series (And maybe my RAM again) if my CPU Would be a bottleneck and slow me down or if its still good.
Thanks' -Andy

it would be a slight bottleneck, you will still get good frame per second, but not as high as other cpu's will
but then, turn up the details and resolution to make it better looking and it wont have that much of a performance hit.
if worse comes to worse, just overclock it.
i had a dualcore 3800 which is 2ghz, and i get perfectly good fps with my 7900gt 256mb 560mhz core 1600mhz memory
with all details max and screen resolution turned up as high as i can.
only bottleneck in my system is the RAM, but i only have 1GB at the moment.

it would be relatively cheap to upgrade as well

Well if you want to play games then the graphics card is by far the best thing to upgrade there.
I wouldn't worry too much about the cpu, there's plenty of power in it for the majority of games.
