Please could anyone shed any light on why my recently repaired Novatech laptop [l51ii0] keeps radomly crashing.I collected it last week after a new motherboard was fitted and returned it after immediate problems .The guy on the helpdesk reinstalled vista but it now crashes for no particular reason. Is there any check i can do or should i return it .Thanks.

first things to try are make sure windows is up to date and then update all the drivers
how exactly does it crash anyway, bluescreen, switch off ???

Hi, the screen goes black with a message windows is closing down due to error? We restart it and options of safemode etc come up .Start normally until fault reoccurs.About twice in say 2-3 hr session.Thanks.

My son tells me the screen does come up blue then closes. It comes up with dumping physical memory. If it helps novatech had to find drivers as I had lost disc. Spent a while doing this because he was unsure of which wireless driver. Laptop still closing down!

Try disabling the wireless network card and connect via the ethernet and see if this helps.

I have looked at your problem but im afraid there is no exact explanation. I could only recommend the following things:
1) Make sure automatic updates are turned ON to make sure that your computer is upated and secure.
2) Make sure you have an anti-virus and firewall running, lots of virus's have the symptom of crashing computers.
3) Make sure your not using to much physical memory at one time, using to much will overwhelm your PC and then crash it. I would recommend to try to never make your physical memory rise above 85%.
Hope i was able to help, feel free to drop me a message if i can help you further.

One word comes to mind, REBOOT haha I'm joking yeah I would get someone to have a look at it and or if not take it back if you can't get it fixed or what not.
