Hi on the weekend i bought a Asrock Xfire Sata-2, 1gb 5400 novatech ram, Intel core 2 duo E6300, X1900 Xt, 500 watt psu and a new case. I had on my other computer 2 ATA hard drives, 1 cd drive and 1 Dvd drive. I transfered them over to put in my new pc, i got it all up and running, inserted the windows install disk into my disk drive, windows shows up to install. I say yes i want a clean install then it comes up with:

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powerd on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related harware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue. To quit seup, press F3

I also went in the bios and shows that the devices are not detected.

I have them all connected up and connected up to my psu, Please can anyone help?

Thanks
Tacul

I just plugged them all in and expected it to go. Isnt this the case? What drivers must i install?

I do have the Mobo drivers CD and sais install the floppy disk to install serial ATA drivers but i do not have a floppy disk drive

Infact i dont even know how i got onto windows now. I have plugged the cable labeled IDE into the blue bit on the motherboard and the 2 connectors coming out of it ive plugged into each of my hardrives then ive pluged the other cable i have into the black slot on the motherboard but it only has 1 connector on the end so ive plugged it into the Dvd drive. Is this correct so fare what ive done?

Thanks

that is correct
i thought you meant that you has 2 sata drives and just left out the s
with IDE/PATA drives, all you need to do is plug them into the motherboard using the IDE cables supplied with the motherboard
