View Full Version : Strange problem when putting in music cd's.

Off on holidays on monday so Im putting music on my ipod with no problem,everytime I put in a music cd in either of my drives I get an error message.Any ideas to fix it are appreciated.

I'd guess iTunes and WMP 11 can't decide who wants to rip a CD file here.
Maybe uninstall and reinstall iTunes would sort it out.
Just a guess...

Cheers guys.Everytime I put a cd in itune copies it no problem.When I go to load it on my ipod it comes up with a new drive found etc,even though the ipods plugged in all the way through.Im just gonna blame vista.

My modest iPod shuffle gets a firmware upgrade now and then. I'm really clueless what that does, but it seems to help compatibility with iTunes at some level.
I seem to recall you go to Apple with the model number and download the utility that does this.
Of course you need to backup the music at some point for safety.
Would it not be easier just setting the file associations in control panel and just set Itunes as the default for audio CD's.

I agree with Cnr. Or go into the preferences for each program and set the asociations seperately. I usually set Itunes to play all audio files, and WinMedPlayer to play all video. In saying that though, Itunes still mongs out every once in a while when I put my Shuffle in.
Am looking at getting one of those Sansa MP4 players for £60 instead - they look pretty good. Anyone seen them in action?
