hi , my dell laptop inspiron 6400 touch pad has stopped working i can still use it with an external mouse but i,d like to fix it if possible

You can take em apart and if your careful won't break too many bits and pieces. You would probably need a dell part to replace original as dell do not generaly use bog standard parts. Buy a nova next time perhaps.?
