Just picked up my X1 GTX Laptop and installed Windows 7 RTM Ultimate 64.

All the important drivers and components work but one fails everytime the machine starts up.
The applications HotKey.exe and LightShow.exe fail to start.

I'm guessing these are for the touch sensitive keys at the top of the keyboard as these aren't working.

I've tried looking to see if theres a newer version of the software (both here and on the clevo website) but no joy.

Is this something you are aware of and is there a plan to resolve it with Windows 7 going on general sale very soon?

How did you get the RTM?

I have a MSDN subscription.

i will look into this. Support for win7 will come soon.

are you sure its not a case of windows defender blocking them from starting?

I'll check windows defender tonight, but there were no notifications that were obvious when the applications tried to start. Theres also nothing in the event log other than start events for the windows service which is installed at the same time.

I'm wondering if its due to changes in WMI introduced with Windows 7 though you'd expect stuff like that to be backwardly compatable.

oki have tried with windows 7 RTM and all is working fine. including the buttons. is there a driver you may have forgotten to install.

i installed the drivers in the order the directories are displayed as the autorun feature doesnt recognise the O/S.

try firstly removing them all and reinstall them in that order.

let me know if that helps.

Ok I'll try doing that again. I'll let you know after the weekend as I've left the driver disk at home and I'm away for the week.
