Well im tired of waiting for an announcement of an ASUS Rd600 motherboard. When i get my R600 gfx card i dont really plan on doing any overclocking and leaving things at stock speeds. Firstly i dont know how and secondly things will be fast enough. Will this chipset bring any added performance to the new card or will it not affect it at all?
Im not a PC whizz so i dont really know! Any help appreciated!

New PC Specs:

Core 2 Duo E6600 or Q6600
WD Raptor 150Gb ( Already Bought )
600W PSU ( Already Bought )
Mobo ???????
Thermaltake Soprano ( already bought )
Vista Home Premium

it would, but only because it is newer technology, and newer stuff tends to work faster

the newer cards which will use the 8 pin power connector, will require just 1 connector, instead of using 2 *6 pin ones.
there will be an adapter that will come out, which would probably be bundled with the gfx card, just like the 2 molex ->6 pin adapters that are out already.
600W would probably be fine, just as long as you dont have too many peripherals or do any overclocking.

what i will say now is, wait for the newer cpu's to come out before you choose anything else, there are newer quad core'd intel cpu's coming out, which are based on their already great conroe architecture. and they will use less electricity aswell

all guesses, and may or may not happen, just before all you lot say it plip

the 8pin is equiv to 2*6pin i believe. as the 8800gtx is routed for an 8pin but instead has 2*6pin. i'll try and get a pic.

Yh performance does matter, but i dont want to look in my case and see blue watercooling, blue cathodes and......orange and yellow motherboard. Eww.

then get orange water additives in the water and change the cathodes
not everyone will have watercooling
not everyone will have cathodes

not getting that there. im sure if the chips as good as they say there will be plenty more r600 mobo's

thing is, it is an AMD chip, for an intel mobo, not alot of manufacturers are actually going to make those boards, just to keep intel happy

There seems to be some members on this forum who are incredibly childish, does anyone really care what colour their motherboard is?

JDowdall

yes if looks matter for example if there is a big yellow ugly motherboard visible through a side panel it isnt too attractive

teknokid

lol. dont have a side panel then.
