When replacing a hard drive due to failure. Does it matter whether it is an ATA133 or a ATA100 ?
My original drive was a Maxtor ATA133, I am currently using an Excelstor J840 which is also ATA133.

I was just wondering as most of the Ide drives, I have seen advertised have been ATA100.
I know this fiqure only refer's to the transfer rate.
The drive I have now works great and being 7200rpm is alot faster than the old one.

Doesn't matter. The ide controller and drive with negotiate the best mode available.
