I am thinking of purchasing the Novatech X20 T5500 12" Micro Laptop but have a couple of questions that I would appreciate answered before I place my order.

Firstly can you tell me what the maximum/optimal screen resolution of the laptop is?

Secondly, what is the average battery life of the laptop? I can appreciate that this will vary wildly dependant on usage, however I would like to know a ballpark figure for nominal usage (e.g. not using the CD/DVD drive and only using the Hard Disk whenever necessary, for example using Word and browsing the Internet & checking e-mail via wireless). The battery life while using the DVD would also be a great figure to have, in other words, how long could I expect the laptop to last on a full charge if I were watching DVD's?.

Finally, can you give me more details on what I could expect from the Intel Extreme High Performance Graphics adapter included with the laptop's motherboard chipset? For example will it be able to render the Windows Vista Aero/Glass effects and the Windows Flip 3D view? Details of the frame rate I could expect from a relatively recent game (e.g. HL2: Lost Coast, F.E.A.R. or Oblivion) along with the 3DMark06 and PCMark05 scores would also be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,
Owain.

1280 x 800

Cant see a battery spec would hope to get 2 hours

Yes

As per most thin & lights the graphics is not really suited to games the 945GM isent really any goo dfor modern games like the ones you mentioned, if you need to be able to play these you would need to look at a notebook with discrete graphics i.e ATI or Nvidia.

Thank you for your reply. The battery life is a bit disappointing, as I guess it rules out watching a feature length DVD without using the mains adapter.

The graphics capabilities are as I suspected. I did not really expect to be able to play modern games on it, I just know the benchmark frame rates for the ones I listed so it would have made a good comparison.

Thanks again for the details you provided,
Owain.
