I have a 259II1 laptop which is behaving very strangely, the unit powers off when idle, no warning, no shutdown, straight off
For instance with a blank HDD in there & installing XP from CD, the setup gets all the way to the point of choosing which partition to install onto then switches off, if however I use the arrow keys to constantly jump between different options on that screen I can keep the laptop on but as soon as I stop it switches off.
The unit will quite happily sit in bios for hours but go anywhere near windows and it shuts down.
I have reset the bios, re-seated the components as well as changing the HDD, I am baffled.
The bios is on V1.07WO (1/5/05) and the next step would be to update it however this chassis is not listed on the web site, the closest match is a 259II0 but I am not willing to chance putting the wrong bios on it in case it totally ruins it.
