Cheers. Just need a better lens so I can get in tighter. I was limited by the 210mm

I had a 2x converter but it played merry **** with my light metering :(

Ah well... time to get saving :D

The 2x converters lower your aperture. So f4 gives you f8. Your lens wont be able to detect this and therefore plays "merry ****" with your light metering.

Also they effect your auto focus (not that you should be using AF for motor sport or any sport really), cause Image Degradation and cause softer images.

Why thank you. I've used tele converters on borrowed lenses and really the only ones that work well are some of the canon L series lenses.

The same goes for the light metering as well.

Really the only lenses worth using a tele converter on are the f2.8 lenses. So unless your using the Sigma APO 200-500mm F2.8 EX DG (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0703/07030805sigma200500mm.asp) I think 800mm at F4 is the furthest you can go :)
