hihihiihi
I want to purchase ' Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM - 1Pk '
After hearing the driver problems with VISTA, do you think my mobo/gpu/sound card would be fine? (spec's shown in sig)
Because I dont want to spend the money, and find its a waist :)
Cheers

i've been running xp 64 bit for about a year now - not had any problems with, or getting hold of drivers.

ok cool, thanks for the tips!
Well, I'm going for the VISTA ULTIMATE 32BIT Edition..
But there's just a few more questions :)
I'm pretty sure my mobo will be OK with VISTA, but, when I install VISTA, then I install my mobo, do I use my drivers off my ASUS Disk, or do I have to search over the Internet for VISTA drivers ?
^^ Same applys to my GFX Card ^^
Cheers all,

vista should install most of the drivers for the motherboard. you may need to have a look on the net for one or two. a good source for drivers is windows update, if they dont install via windows update you will have to have a look on the net.

OK, the story!
Last night i thought i would format my system and have a fresh copy of windows XP.. so i went though the usual steps, but the format only seemed to take 2mins MAX.. ?
After it formatted it restarted the system, and started to load.... but, it would start to restart and then i would get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
ERROR:
***STOP: 0X000000A5 (0X00000002,0X8983C228,0XE10BB330,0X89802030)
I tried formatting the system abouttt 4 times, before i actually gave up!
THE NEXT DAY:
Vista Premium arrived :)
I installed it with no problems, system is currently up and running.
BUT, the motherboard drivers aint supported ! lol - So I've got to look for some drivers over the net for my board!
The GFX Card drivers seem to install without any problems, and i managed to find some creative BETA drivers (From the creative website) so i can use my sound card for a bit!
If anyone can help with my Mobo drivers: ASUS A8N-32 SLI DELUXE MOBO :)

I've just checked on the ASUS website, and my drivers only seem to be for XP !
teknokid, did your drivers say it was compatible with VISTA?
Didnt your gfx card drivers work with VISTA then?
I really hope i can find the correct drivers for my Mobo!
