Novatech Crossfire ?? Mitac 8355

Hi

My father-in-law has a Mitac 8355 laptop from Novatech and it is running slow has from when he got it... He returned it a few times only to be told there is nothing wrong with it, so he gave up and stuck it iin a draw. I have now got the laptop and looking into why it is running so slow and found that the CPU is stuck at 800MHz when it should be running at 2200GHz. This is known problem with these machines. Does anybody have a bios update link or a fix for this problem??

if your not doing anything, the cpu will run at a lower speed than stated, if your doing anything intensive, it will run faster.... AMD have it and i think its Quiet n Cool or something. - thats my understanding of it
