Hi i am going to invest into a new PC- i have gone thorugh different comapnies and the possibilty of build it myslef.
However Novatech turns out the best option in terms of budget.

What i am wondering is how good are Novatech PCs because i have had bad experiences with 2 Novatech laptops- which after warrenty had major problems.

The PCs i am looking at are the:

Annihilator Dual 8800GTX both the same bar the processor.
Annihilator Quad Core Extreme

With the warrenty can it be extended and how long is it?
- i know alot of the parts are high end so are covered by their own warrenty which continues after warretny has ended.

What cooling system is in place in the Annihilator and what motherboard is used in it?

Thanks

Annihilator Dual 8800GTX both the same bar the processor.
Annihilator Quad Core Extreme

If your going for high end spec. then why not build your own :)

not everyone can build their own, because they dont know how, or dont have time and or patience to get stuff that is compatable.
as for cooling it will be air, novatech would probably stay away from water.

The PC's seem OK, but my experience of their after sales support is dire. I had an issue with a new PC, I emailed support for help and I didn't even get a reply. I shall remember that in future.

Unfortunately, that does seem fairly common, I had to have a bit of a moan on this forum before I got anything done, but once I had some attention, I couldn't fault the service.

As far as I'm concerned good customer service is something I take into account when deciding whether to purchase more products in the future. Novatech continue to send me sales literature, but so far I've not been tempted. I run my own small business and I would never ignore any of my customers requests, unfortunately larger organisations don't always take the same view.

You may think that as I am a ex- novatech employee that I am biased. However I can truly say that when I was working for the company that everyone in customer services and technical support always go out of there way to resolve any issue.

Yes sometimes replies maybe slow but what do you expect from a company that still supports its customer after the warranty has long run out.

I have personally taken technical call from people where the warranty ran out over 5 years before.

After sells work very hard to support a wide range of issue but there is a limit on how much each person can do.

I would advise that you urgent issue that you spend the time to call (many issue can be resolved on the phone).

E-mail is best used for more involved issue where the reply may require some research first.

It’s easy to find occasions where a customer feels that customer services has let them down in any company (Even yours JohnR).

The thing to remember is they will help if they are able. But they are a business. If there costs go up then so must there prices (There is very little profit in many of the items sold).

The views expressed here are my own and not necessarily those of Novatech.

There is no excuse for ignoring a customer email, whatever that email is about.

Thanks for the replys- although they have gone completely off topic-

Reply to 1) High end spec costs alot of money and Novatech is the best buy for money- building it myself would cost too much- cheaper and more affordable with novatech.
Also not to confident on building it myself and i prefer to have insurance with one manufactures rather than multiple ones if things go wrong.

The parts in the systems bought separately cost more than novatech are selling it for- other manufacturers that i have looked at cost more- was considering alienware- due to their excellent customer service but the same system as the ones i am looking at cost a £1000 pounds less with novatech.

Reply to 2) Thanks though so- was thinking that water may be a possibility due to the high end spec of the system.

Reply to 3) Have had experience with Novatech laptops but not PCs.- problems- but the after sales support was great- did take some time but that was due to it being over the holidays-
If you do have a problem phone- or use Novatechs chat services you get a quicker reply ive have found.

Would be great if someone could get back to me over insurance and warranty over the pc- since the cost of it i want to insurance it as much as possible.

I just want to say without even looking at the prices on the internet of each component, novatech will definitely be charging a premium as this is where computer companies make there money, with the higher spec computers. Look at dell for example, they sell loads of computers for around the £400 mark so they don't need to make so much profit on each, whereas as you spend more and more it becomes less and less good value.

It sounds like you're a gamer, so obviously you want high specification components, but I think a quad core processor would be overkill. Games will run perfectly with one of Intels core 2 duo (I recommend the E6600) which is very easy to overclock to give you more performance, and you may gain some more 'leet' points too. You can buy a barebones bundle from novatech with the E6600 and it really is as simple as plugging everything in, and you could probably end up saving nearly a thousand pounds.

Quad core may be over kill now- but this is a major investment will last a good 5-6+ years- i did even ask Novatech if they could put the Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme 6800 as its more powerful then the quad cores individually- however Novatech was unable to do this.

I am definetly a gamer hence why i am buying this system will be attending I30 this year :D.
I understand what you are saying and i have looked at the bare bones systems and they dont meet what i am looking for- as i have mentioned above quad core is overkill but im looking to the future- games are already making use of multi cores- supreme commander out tomorrow, is one of them and more are to follow.

Im already saving money by going with Novatech and i can afford this system- im looking at performance for a good price.

Just wondering does anyone know how much space there is in the case that comes with the Annihilator system-
would be looking to add another gig to two gigs to the ram and put in a better sound car- would this be possible?

You will be able to fit extra RAM, However between the Physx Card and the two 8800 Cards there is no room to fit any more cards.

The 8800GTX are pretty big cards and with two of those in that only leaves a PCI slot that the physx card currently occupies.

I've had no problems with buying the System hardare on its own, ive managed to build a 2ghz pc completely from novatech, slightly expensive after completion, but at least you get what you want.
(although i was supplied incorrect drivers for my Ati Radeon 9000se Graphics card, and now my laptops playing up).
Anyway, not too bad otherwise :)

If you visit the ati website, you'll be able to get the latest drivers for your gfx card. Nice good d/l speeds from there too.

I bought a ISYS MAX yesterday and it is faulty, after about 10 mins of waiting on the live support chat thingy and then 10 more minutes speaking to someone, I am picking up a replacement tomorrow lunchtime.

I know there is a lot of bitching on this thread about after sales support, but personnally I can say my after sales service has been brilliant.
