Not sure were to post this, so I thought this section would be best :)
Now for my issue

I'm experiencing constant lag in-game (online)...

I have Windows 7 x64
Using the linksys WUSB54G 54g ver 4 adapter installed with RT2500 USB Wireless LAN Card drivers as the ones that come with the adapter are not supported.

I'm NOT downloading in anyway, no viruses are on my computer and it's not a hardware problem as it was working fine (no lag) before I installed windows 7

I have searched the internet, people saying use the optimizer that turns 'WLAN AutoConfig' off (which can easily be done by going to the services...)
I also have the 'connect to a more preffered network if available' in 'manage wireless networks' un-ticking (these searching for any nearer/better access points) which is done every 60 seconds however this is not my issue

my issue is 95% of the time experiencing lag with a 100 - 200 ping in-game.

I can only see either Windows 7 being the problem or the drivers I am using for my wireless adapter...
anyone else experiencing these issues?

is it particular to one game?

personally i play everquest2 and gamewide, players have been experiencing terrible lag since a recent game update - whatever system they are using.

if it is a particular game you could try checking the game forums to see if other players have same problem.

if its all games, then sorry i have no ideas :(

Wireless is not a good idea for serious gaming as so many things can interfere with the signal. Try using wired if possible. I online game all the time on win7 and have no problems with ping.

Did you trust windows 7 to install it's own wireless driver? It's very good at that but because it might be a generic driver you might find it's not very fast. To resolve that you'll need to hunt down the windows 7 driver for you wireless adapter or if not available try the vista one.
If you're having issues finding that post you wifi adapter name & model and we'll have a see if we can find it for you.
If it's one of our notebooks you can remove the battery and *within the compartment* where it came from will be a sticker advising the wireless card.

The other thing you can try is changing the router channel number to 1, 6 or 11 - these channels do not overlap so have less possiblity of interference.

My wireless card had latency of 2000ms on a 24 byte file, I'm going wired later :)
