Ok my sister who has just returned to Uni after a work placement for two weeks, so shes already missed some work, (she does textiles and therefore lots of stuff on photoshop) had a 2 year old laptop in which we were recently told the motherboard had died,

So we need a new one, i instantly thought of novatech,

So i look at the laptop range and see this (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/laptop/range/x16hd.html),

And i think perfect that will suit her down to the ground,

but of course she doesnt decide right away and has a look a few other places, as you do to see where you can get the best,

So at this point i have not added it to my basket, thinking well we dont need to check the stock levels cause novatech are really good with stock and theres always a little label telling you whether its out of stock or not, and seeing nothing i assumed it was in stock,

then i thought oooh if i order it today it will be there waiting for them on monday morning, and ill get it tuesday i can set it up for her this week and she can have it by the end of this week,

that way shes only not had a laptop (that she really needs for all her work) for at most a week,

So i go to put it in my basket and i find that its out of fricking stock till the 21st!!!!!

Would it really be so difficult to have a stock information bar on the fricking product page????????

The problem with this page is that its not a products page its a product range information page which drills down to maybe 4 physical stockcodes per laptop (normal or pro then without an operating system for each and with windows and its various flavours etc)...

So for example if we did give you a stock count for all the various types combined on this page and had for example 3 with windows xp, 3 with no operating system and 0 with vista which would show 6 in stock, again by the time you come through and need a unit preinstalled with vista we've mislead you.. theres no easy way around this issue unless we try and cram every operating system choice for both models into that page as well as the short spec and full spec etc,

Also the information on those pages is prepopulated by a designer and it is not just a generic design showing exactly the same data for each model which would make it difficult to keep it updated with stock availability due to the currently complexity of the backend system.

We will look into changing this sometime soon but in the mean time any suggestions will be taken and considered for bettering the site.

Thanks,
