All,
OK I've a weird problem, or rather a mate has and he says it only started after I did something to his PC...
Well all I did was install a router for him. I replaced his USB modem with a router. So his PC is now actaully using the network card it came with. I'm going to be vague here, but the PC is a high-power Novatech gaming PC - 3Mhz or more with a powerful graphics card exactly as supplied by Novatech (no mods or overclocking). At the moment that is all I know.
Currently the PC works fine except when he runs the game NeverWinter nights (sp?). Then it starts to beep. I'm quite a distance away so just popping over to have a look is not easy. The beeps are not coming via the sound card but from the internal buzzer. Now I'm familiar with beeping at start-up to signify error conditions but I've never come across them when running an application.
Does anybody have any ideas where I might start to look for the cause. Is it possible that these are diagnostic beeps or something. Would they follow the usual BIOS codes?
Thanks for any pointers. Yes I do realise I'm being a bit vague! But I have to start somewhere :-)
