Just read this on Toms.
TBH its a load of rubbish. No wonder AMD are losing the race, if this is what they are spending all their time doing.
4x4 was such a load of rubbish, this could turn out the same.
So far Intel really don't care about this kind of specialist area and seem more interested in mocking AMD for doing so(V8). Multi GPU setups are the concern of GFX card manufacturers not CPU manufacturers.
R600 was an ATI card, not an AMD one, atleast I think so. Not entirely sure how intel/AMD come into the equation in this instance, other than having to be able to supply chipsets that can support things like this.

Yeah sorry, some guy was going on about 4x4 with 8cores and 4 R600's.
Still quad graphics, going to raise your power bill. Not really any need for it either and the performance increase isn't anything unless you have a super hi res.

depends if they can implement it properly, seeing that quad sli wasnt that great because of little support and poor performance

AMD chips aren't bad you know, they just aren't the best anymore.
Will have to wait and see - i'm still annoyed at how bad ATI support linux :/

AMD chips arent bad, but they are still on 90nm when they could of gone 65nm and made some improvements, but nevermind, does what i need it for.
still happy with my X2 3800 939skt

wonder if we can badger an admin to turn it off, anyone posting here knows novatech sell those components. infact the forums are only found by people who have probably bought em allready!!
Wouldn't really mind if they didn't turn your quotes into a lump of illegible symbols...

It's irrelevant really. The huge cost gives it such a little market share. They need to start shrinking GPU die sizes and making them multicore if possible.
Can you imagine a 4x4 system? The energy consumption, the noise, the heat? It's going against technology.
